Arsenal have just asked the Premier League organizers to postpone the match against Tottenham this weekend. This decision of Arsenal made the opponent very angry.
Recently, Arsenal announced that it had submitted an application to the English Premier League organizers to request a postponement of the north London derby against Tottenham players . The reason given by Arsenal is that this team does not have enough players for the above very important match.

“We can confirm that we have applied to the Premier League organizers to request a postponement of the north London derby. Arsenal do not want to do this but we currently have too many players absent due to COVID-19, injuries and cases returned to serve the national team in CAN 2021. We will provide more information when the results are available”, Arsenal’s homepage announced.
According to Sky Sport, Tottenham’s leadership is very angry because of Arsenal’s proposal to postpone the match. They believe that in the current Arsenal squad, there are not any players who are positive for COVID-19. Earlier, Carabao Cup teams accused Liverpool of deliberately asking to postpone the semi-final first leg despite knowing their player had a false positive test result for COVID-19.
Arsenal are facing a crisis of force after the match in the Carabao Cup. Midfielders Martin Odegaard, Emile Smith Rowe and Takehiro Tomiyasu are all out due to injury. Meanwhile, Cedric Soares and Bukayo Saka were both hurt after the match at Anfield. Thomas Partey, Mohamed Elneny, Nicolas Pepe and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are participating in the 2021 CAN Africa Cup of Nations.
Earlier this week, the Premier League match between Leicester City and Everton was postponed for the second time. The tournament organizers accepted Leicester City’s proposal “due to the COVID-19 cases, injuries and the players on international duty in the Cup of African Nations”.
It is expected that the Premier League board will meet today and make a decision on the London derby between Arsenal and Tottenham.
