Former Rangers and Hamilton Accies star David Templeton has had a shock retirement after signing for West of Scotland League side Drumchapel United.
The 33-year-old retired last November as he called his time at the Accies continuing following persistent injury problems.
However, the striker missed the game and will now return to play next season in the West of Scotland League against Drumchapel.
His signing was announced on the club’s social media page last night, with United posting: “This man needs no introduction!
“He’s played for a number of teams you might have heard of like Rangers, Hearts and Hamilton.
“Welcome to Drum David Templeton.”

Templeton began his career with Stenhousemuir before joining Hearts in 2007 where he went on to score a memorable goal at Anfield in 2012 for Jambos against Liverpool side featuring future Rangers Steven Gerrard.
He spent four years at Ibrox as the club climbed back into the leagues, winning the 2012/13 Third Division and the Scottish League One the following season before leaving in 2016.
The winger then made two appearances at the Hamilton Accies between his time down south against Burton Albion.
He also had a brief stint with Raith Rovers.
When Templeton stopped playing at the Accies last year, he was already working with their under-14s and was looking to set up his own academy.

But now the next chapter of his career awaits at Lochburn Park and there are sure to be plenty of delighted spectators to see the new United man in action later this summer.
