Roy Keane: ‘Arsenal wears the same shirt as Real but plays like an amateur team’

The former MU captain mocked Arsenal after the 0-1 loss to Nottingham in the third round of the FA Cup at dawn on January 10 (Hanoi time).

“Arsenal dressed like Real Madrid but played like an amateur team. The speed of their passes, their tackles were really thrown away,” Roy Keane told ITV.

At the trip to the City Ground, Arsenal wore a special white shirt in response to the movement against knife violence in London. This combined with a lackluster performance contributed to their criticism of Roy Keane.

On Nottingham Forest’s The City Ground, coach Mikel Arteta launched a quality squad, but Arsenal spent 90 minutes of disappointment against the First Division team. “Gunners” finished a total of 10 times, 7 in the first half, 3 in the second half but no phase put the ball on target.

In the role of a striker, Eddie Nketiah makes fans lose patience with situations when he shoots into the sky from close range.

In the 83rd minute, the defense lacked concentration, causing the away team to pay a heavy price. Lokonga’s broken pass created an opportunity for the home side to counterattack. Grabban jumped in to catch his teammates’ cross and then hit the net to represent the Premier League.

In the last 26 seasons, Arsenal have only been eliminated in the 3rd round of the FA Cup and both came after defeats against Nottingham. Four years ago, this team also eliminated the “Gunners” by winning 4-2 at home.

In a recent interview, Keane used the word “weak” to talk about Arsenal and predicted that the Emirates club would hardly finish the season in the top 4: “Arsenal overcome difficulties. They have promising young players. However, Arsenal is still too weak, especially when facing big clubs.”

Previously, the former MU captain also made many humorous statements when Arsenal were in poor form. When Saka shone in the England shirt, Keane said: “Hopefully Saka will enjoy this time because when he returns to the club, he will no longer be able to play at the highest level.”
