Rangers switch to playing on Archer, Barisic, Stewart and Cassierra

This summer will be a busy season at Ibrox.

Rangers signed new contracts with Connor Goldson, Steven Davis and Scott Arfield this summer.

While John Souttar has signed a long-term contract from Hearts after agreeing to a previous contract in January.

And Gio van Bronckhorst is not expected to be completed there.

Sunderland forward Ross Stewart appears to be the target after Cedric Itten switched to BSC Young Boys earlier this month.

Full back Borna Barisic Has been linked to a move away from Ibrox after scouts tracked him down for Croatia.

While a player doesn’t seem to be participating Rangers This summer is FC Sochi ace Mateo Cassierra.

The future of veteran goalkeeper Allan McGregor is also rising with his next move or the possibility of retirement still unclear.

Cameron Archer

Based on talkSPORT Rangers are interested in Aston Villa striker Cameron Archer this summer.

And he had an impressive audition the day the links emerged, scoring for England Under-21s in a 3-0 win over Albania.

Recently, Watford have been relegated and their Championship rivals Middlesbrough are also said to be very interested.

The player scored seven goals in 20 Premier League appearances while on loan at Preston North End last season.

Mateo Cassierra

Cassierra had previously mentioned interest from the Glasgow club, flirting with a move after his name was linked in the Netherlands.

But sources close to his club FC Sochi have dismissed suggestions that a deal for £8m Colombian is imminent.

It’s still possible but it looks like it will by the end of summer if it does.

The 25-year-old moves to Sochi in 2021 and has scored 14 goals in 22 games but could leave this summer.

Borna Barisic

Barisic is attracting interest from the Turkish side Trabzonspor, according to Scottish football .

The left-back is currently on international duty with Croatia for the Nations League treble and Trabzonspor has kept him on watch in both games so far.

And they will also be represented tonight when Croatia take on Denmark in the third match of the group stage.

It is known that no official bid has yet been made but the Turkish side is very interested in signing Barisic and is likely to make an offer.

Ross Stewart

Rangers continue to be linked with Sunderland striker Ross Stewart.

Stewart, who has been dubbed ‘Loch Ness Drogba’, made his Scotland debut as a late substitute as Steve Clarke’s side beat Armenia at Hampden on Wednesday.

And it could take around £8m to secure his services.

The Mackems are poised to act as a talisman for their highest-paid player after promotion back to the second tier left them in a strong negotiating position. Meanwhile, at least three other English champions are said to be interested.

The 25-year-old is the top scorer for northeastern clubs and scored in the play-off final win over Wycombe to send them to the title.

Stewart faces a big call about his future and whether to stay south of the border if Van Bronckhorst calls.
