CBS Sports announces 2022 PGA Tour broadcast schedule, featuring Masters for 67th straight year

29 Nov 2021 | 11:27 | Golf

CBS Sports announced its 2022 PGA Tour broadcast schedule, and as usual, it’s loaded with great events at tremendous venues featuring the best golfers in the world. Everything orbits around the Masters in early April and the PGA Championship at the end of May, but surrounding those two majors are plenty of other great tournaments as well.

In total, CBS Sports will air 20 total events across four countries, adding the Scottish Open and Mexico Open to the schedule for the first time.

Everything gets rolling with a new-look Farmers Insurance Open at the end of January. The event at Torrey Pines will actually begin on Wednesday and conclude on Saturday evening at 8 p.m. ET on CBS in primetime as to avoid the Sunday afternoon NFL playoffs. The third round will also be on CBS on Friday evening in primetime.

Following the Farmers, CBS Sports goes on its normal three-event run. Following Riviera in mid-February, there will be a hiatus for March Madness until the Masters begins the first full week in April. The third and final rounds will be on CBS, and both will end at 7 p.m. This marks the 67th consecutive year that the Masters will be broadcast on CBS.

A new event enters just after the Masters with the Mexico Open at the beginning of May after the RBC Heritage and Zurich Classic and just before the PGA Championship at Southern Hills. CBS will broadcast the weekend rounds from Tulsa a year after Phil Mickelson took home what was the most exciting major of the last few years. This is the 32nd straight year the PGA has been broadcasted on CBS.

From there, it’s the normal slate before the crew will head across the pond for the Scottish Open just before the Open Championship. This event was newly added to the PGA Tour calendar and is co-sanctioned by the PGA Tour and European Tour.

CBS Sports closes out strong with three big events in what should be another thrilling year of golf. Make sure you tune in throughout the season and join us right here for full coverage of the PGA Tour and beyond!
